THE BIBLE

And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. ...

... God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. ...

... God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, ...

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. ...
(Gen. 1:21, 25 God, 27 God, 28 (to 1st ,), 31 (to 1st .))

Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart. ...

I will wash mine hands in innocency: ...
(Ps. 26:2, 6 (to 1st :))

... a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatic, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. ...

And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
(Matt. 17:14–16 a, 18)

... came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

... Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, ...

... whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. ¶ Woe unto the world because of offences! ...

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; ...
(Matt. 18:1 came, 2 Jesus, 5–7 whoso (to 1st !), 10 (to ;))

¶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; ...

But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
(Matt. 10:16, 17, 19, 20)

... Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee-ward very good: For he did put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause? And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul sware, As the LORD liveth, he shall not be slain. ...

... ¶ And there was war again: and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, ...

... Michal David’s wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to-night, to-morrow thou shalt be slain. ¶ So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.
(I Sam. 19:4–6 Jonathan, 8 (to 2nd ,), 11 Michal, 12)

It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom; And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage. ...

... ¶ Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; ...

Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever. All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. ...

Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. ...

Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee. ...

... ¶ Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of music brought before him: and his sleep went from him. Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions. And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt. ...

... ¶ And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; ...

... ¶ Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
(Dan. 6:1, 2, 4 (to 1st ;), 6, 7, 11, 16, 18–22, 24 (to ;), 25)

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
(Isa. 11:6)

Is not God in the height of heaven? ...

Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. ...

He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.
(Job 22:12 (to ?), 21, 30)

Science & Health w/ Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy

Knowing the Science of creation, in which all is Mind and its ideas, Jesus rebuked the material thought of his fellow-countrymen: “Ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?” How much more should we seek to apprehend the spiritual ideas of God, than to dwell on the objects of sense! To discern the rhythm of Spirit and to be holy, thought must be purely spiritual.
(SH 509:29)

Genesis i. 21. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Spirit is symbolized by strength, presence, and power, and also by holy thoughts, winged with Love.
(SH 512:4–9)

God fashions all things, after His own likeness. ... Man and woman as coexistent and eternal with God forever reflect, in glorified quality, the infinite Father-Mother God.
(SH 516:9 (only), 21)

A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive.
(SH 463:12–13)

Jesus loved little children because of their freedom from wrong and their receptiveness of right. While age is halting between two opinions or battling with false beliefs, youth makes easy and rapid strides towards Truth.
(SH 236:28)

If a child is exposed to contagion or infection, the mother is frightened and says, “My child will be sick.” The law of mortal mind and her own fears govern her child more than the child’s mind governs itself, and they produce the very results which might have been prevented through the opposite understanding. Then it is believed that exposure to the contagion wrought the mischief.
(SH 154:16)

Children should be taught the Truth-cure, Christian Science, among their first lessons, and kept from discussing or entertaining theories or thoughts about sickness. To prevent the experience of error and its sufferings, keep out of the minds of your children either sinful or diseased thoughts. The latter should be excluded on the same principle as the former. This makes Christian Science early available.
(SH 237:15)

SHEEP. Innocence; inoffensiveness; ...
(SH 594:12 (only, to 2nd ;))

Divine Science shows how the Lamb slays the wolf. Innocence and Truth overcome guilt and error. Ever since the foundation of the world, ever since error would establish material belief, evil has tried to slay the Lamb; but Science is able to destroy this lie, called evil.
(SH 567:31–5)

Whatever it is your duty to do, you can do without harm to yourself.
(SH 385:17–18)

Evil thoughts and aims reach no farther and do no more harm than one’s belief permits. Evil thoughts, lusts, and malicious purposes cannot go forth, like wandering pollen, from one human mind to another, finding unsuspected lodgment, if virtue and truth build a strong defence.
(SH 234:31–3)

Tenderness accompanies all the might imparted by Spirit. The individuality created by God is not carnivorous, as witness the millennial estate pictured by Isaiah: —

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
And the leopard shall lie down with the kid;
And the calf and the young lion, and the fatling together;
And a little child shall lead them.

Understanding the control which Love held over all, Daniel felt safe in the lions’ den, and Paul proved the viper to be harmless. All of God’s creatures, moving in the harmony of Science, are harmless, useful, indestructible. A realization of this grand verity was a source of strength to the ancient worthies. It supports Christian healing, and enables its possessor to emulate the example of Jesus. “And God saw that it was good.”
